Navinder Singh

In his early twenties, Navinder is one of the most Inspiring young tabla players based in England. Navinder has been brought up in a musical environment, as his father Gurdev Singh is a well-known Sarod player. Navinder is a disciple of the renowned Tabla player Shri Sukhvider Singh Namdhari, disciple of maestro Pt. Kishan Maharaj of Banaras Gharana (style). Navinder's Tabla style reflects the dynamism and strength of his teacher in rhythmic play.


Navinder has given solo performances and accompanied vocal, instrumental, dance and fusion. He has accompanied internationally renowned Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, his father Shri Gurdev Singh (Sarod), Ustad Shahid Parvez (sitar), Smt Priya Pawar (dance) and Shri Satish Vyas santoor) and also with other Well-known U.K based musicians. He also performed with Niladri Kumar an upcoming talented sitar player from India.

Navinder has played in various famous music festivals in India and all over the Europe. He has performed with Shri K.S Bhavani Shankar and the world famous Drummer Shiva Mani also with famous pop singer Sharon Rose in Asian Mafia, fusion. Furthermore he has also accompanied on tabla in 12cds of Gurbani (Sikh holy songs) reflecting his other styles and talent in tabla.

Navinder is available for solo performances, accompaniment with dance, instrumental, and vocal and experimental work. Navinder also teaches privately for students interested in playing tabla, dholki and all other Indian percussion instruments.
